my story.....

I have always loved jewelry’s ability to communicate, signify, embellish and dance with the soul. My jewelry is designed by exploring unconventional forms, talismanic symbols, patterns in nature and discovered dreams. I gently coax beeswax into three dimensional forms, which I cast into limited edition work to adorn the body and amplify the spirit. I strive to create work that is substantial, fluid and inspiring….it has been said that my jewelry almost feels like a tattoo….

Every element has been considered, from the signature hand carved toggle clasps, to the ‘secret’ carvings on the backs of many pieces, to the hand patina and finish, and the choice of environmentally responsible metals and stones. My work is created not only for beauty and embellishment…it is my hope that it will become personal adornment that is a gesture of your intention, spirit and soul. Models are hand carved from bees wax that is created by the honey bees that my sister and her partner Michael keep here in Vermont. These miniature wax sculptures are hand cast using the ancient method of lost wax or cire perdue.

They are coaxed into their final form via varied metalsmithing techniques, from chasing and forging to engravin create exclusively in eco friendly recycled sterling silver and gold. I do not plate any of my alloys so absolutely no cyanide is used in the jewelry making process. This process is much gentler on the earth and for me, the only way to work. All designs are cast in limited editions sculpt with beeswax rather than commercial carving wax for two reasons:o bring attention to the plight of the honey bee, at risk in our current environment…without them, we would have no food.
