My work is designed by exploring unconventional forms,talismanic symbols, patterns in nature and discovered dreams.</p> <p>I gently coax beeswax into three dimensional forms, which I cast into limited edition work to adorn the body and amplify the spirit. I strive to create work that is substantial, fluid and inspiring&#8230;.it has been said that my jewelry almost feels like a tattoo&#8230;.</p> <p>Every element has been considered, from the signature hand carved toggle clasps, to the ‘secret’ carvings on the backs of many pieces, to the hand patina and finish, and the choice of <strong>environmentally responsible metals and stones</strong>. These miniature wax sculptures are hand cast using the ancient method of lost wax or cire perdue.</p> <p>Master models are coaxed into their final form via varied metalsmithing techniques, from chasing and forging to engraving.</p> <p>I create exclusively in Argentium sterling silver or colored eco gold. argentium is a state-of-the-art modern alloy created completely of reclaimed silver scrap, some nickel and germanium. Absolutely no cyanide is used in the process, so it is much <strong>gentler on the earth</strong>, and we utilize silver that has been previously mined.</p> <p><em>All designs are cast in limited editions.</em></p> <p>I sculpt with beeswax rather than commercial carving wax for two reasons:</p> <p>To bring attention to the plight of the honey bee, at risk in our current environment&#8230;without them, we would have no food.</p> <p><em>and</em></p> <p>Beeswax is the carving material that was used by the ancient alchemists.
