Precious metal jewelry lasts forever…

That being said, there are steps you can take to keep your jewels looking their best! All jewels are happiest being worn often. When they are not in use, store them in a jewelry box or drawer in a soft fabric roll or small pouch. A small plastic zip-loc will do in a pinch, to keep items from scratching each other, or chains from tangling.

Your kerin rose silver jewelry is cast from a 100% recycled sterling silver alloy, specially designed to be tarnish resistant. That being said, sulfides in the air will cause all silver jewelry to tarnish under certain circumstances, and ours is no exception, especially as we do not rhodium plate our work like commercially made jewels! Skin chemistry, pollution, humidity are all factors that can increase tarnish on silver. You may notice pieces you wear most often stay shiny, as touching alleviates tarnish!

DO NOT attempt to clean our jewels in a silver dipping solution, ultrasonic cleaner, or a steamer, as this will remove the dark patina in the recesses of the piece, and can also be detrimental to some gemstones, such as opals, turquoise, jade, emeralds or pearls.

For best results, use a special soft flannel cloth, impregnated with a polishing formula. These are available at your local jewelers or you can purchase them here in my shop. Your jewelry comes with a small black specially treated anti-tarnish paper under the cotton in your box. Keep it with your jewelry when stored and it will slow down the tarnish process.

Very mild soap (dishwashing liquid, watered down) and a VERY soft bristle toothbrush can also be used to scrub gook out of the recesses of a piece, but please take care not to scratch! Dry thoroughly, with a soft cloth, and store in a soft pouch in your jewel box.

If you own a piece of kerin rose jewelry in 14 K or 18 K gold, the same care rules apply…

AVOID wearing jewelry in hot tubs, saunas, swimming pools, and try to avoid its contact with perfume, cosmetics, sunscreens and household cleaning products. We recommend putting on your jewelry last thing when getting dressed.

Your jewelry is built to last, and we guarantee our craftsmanship, under normal use, wear and tear. If you experience any issues with our work, please contact us.
</body-html>
